Very Nicely done! This is a great shot by @BruceDale from Nat Geo. See the link below. This is a 23 second long exposure and the camera was mounted on the tail of the airplane.

So, my question to Bruce. What happened to the camera? Did it survive the plane ride?

Via Flickr:
Taken in Maldives during our honeymoon in Sept 2007. We were at this beautiful sandbank in front of our water villa during our visit to island of Landaa Giraavaru. It was taken with Canon Digital Rebel XT and a 135-400mm Sigma Lens at 135mm.

The Maldives is a beautiful place for busy travelers who are seeking a tropical paradise to rest their body and mind. We had a year of busy schedule. From our trips to the desert and Sierras to our wedding in both US and Hong Kong, this place was the perfect getaway to mark the end of our adventurous 2007.

Beach of Kuda Huraa Island , Four Season Resorts, Maldives

One of my favorite shots of my wife. Taken during our honeymoon in Maldives .

Sometimes, good photos are captured rather than created. This is one of them. It was our second day on Kuda. After a good night sleep in the beach bungalow, we were so ready for the water. She was just getting ready to snorkel while waiting for the hotel employee to setup our lounge. She had her gears in the basket provided by the hotel. I took this when she walked towards the water to test the temperature. I grabbed the camera and snapped a few shots and voila!

Taken with Canon Digital Rebel XT, Tamron 17-50mm, 17mm @2.8, 1/3200s.

A mile above the sinking paradise

This photo was taken during our honeymoon in Maldives. We were on the sailplane from Four Seasons Resorts Kuda Huraas in the Malé Atoll to F.S. Landaa Giraavaru in Baa Atoll. A short trip of 80 miles or 20 mins of plane ride. The sailplane belongs to Trans Maldivian Air, http://www.tma.com.mv.

With the highest natural ground of 7 feet above the sea level, Maldives is the flattest country in the world. As of today, she is facing a series of challenging from monther nature where the rise of ocean level from global warming is threatening her existence. The kingdom of thousand islands, that lies across the equator, may not be here for our next generation to witness her beauty.

“Beautifully Lit” Kuda Hurras, Four Seasons Resort, #Maldives

This magnificent portico is the entrance to the Cafe Hurra of the resort. I took the photo during our honeymoon in 2007.

I photographed many hotels around the world, and some of them are just so easy to shoot. When I said easy, I meant not only the hotel architecture is appealinig, but also the lighting is well designed. This means that I don’t need to applied much artificial lighting to create the mood that I want. The mojo you’ll need for a good photo is all in there. It is like your art principle is perfectly aligned with that of the interior desinger.

Kuda Hurras is one of them.

“Central @ 11pm” Hong Kong, 2007

HK is the birthplace of my wife and my parents. Although I grew up in Taiwan and spent my childhood there, I always have a feeling for the birthplace of my love ones. I have visited the place 4 times in the past and photographing this place has always been a challenge for me. The atmosphere of the metroplis is just so dynamic and sometimes I didn’t know where to begin to document the life of the busy street. Everything seems interesting here to photograph. I was like a kid in the candy store and I didn’t know which jars of truffle to pick.

Finally, I decided to go for something that is always there. Something that I have plenty of time to shoot to experiment different techniques.
